they came by my window
one dark cold night,
"yes!", said the leader bee,
"we've finally found our site!"
with glorious celebration,
they started off their labour
bit by bit, block by block,
without hurting their neighbour.
the work was finally over;
the "honey buds" did bloom,
before mother realized
their existence in my room.
"these are very dangerous,"
she cautiously proclaimed,
"if somebody gets hurt,
who else is to be blamed?"
she joyfully destroyed
their cozy little hive;
little did she know
that more would soon arrive!
oh Instinct! thou art painful,
making them thrive again...
all for waste, owing to
the evil deeds of men.
they built, she burned, incessantly
till mother couldn't cope,
we have a thing to learn from them:
they never gave up hope!
they came again, mightily,
mother didn't complain.
"they mind their business anyway,
they might as well remain."

A little must be said about this poem. It was the first readable poem i attempted in the year 2006. It is inspired by the wasp hive which remained on my bedroom window for a long, long time! The part about my mum trying to save her precious daughter from those monstrous creatures is also true. :) criticism is welcome!
